Animation has become a leading tool for educators and businesses through the use of infographics and interactive content. Animation brings life to traditionally bland presentations and makes a lasting impression as something original and completely unexpected. Animation can be used successfully for Flash animated web sites with fancy intros, to full-blown animated cartoon shorts. Animation is a powerful tool for those that choose to use it. If I had a choice of what I want to do when I grow up, Animator would be at the top of my list.THE ANIMATION DEMOFor animating, I work in Flash. I have also worked with other softwware packages like Blender, Hash's Animator and Toon Boom Studio. But the primary tools I love to use are Flash and a WACOM Tablet. For creating individual elements, body parts, miscellaneous items, editing, compiling and finalizing the projects, I use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After effects and/or Adobe Premier. For audio production, audio editing or creating sound effects I like to use Adobe Audition (Yes, I know, but I still like it.) or FL Studio. For background imagery I like to go with a more traditional approach and go back to my artistic roots. Sometimes you just can't beat the old pencils, paint brushes, Micron pens, Pen and Ink, watercolors, watercolor paper, markers, etc. Then the fun part is scanning them in, cutting them up and making them dance in Flash. My process is the same depending on the client needs and/or stage in the project. Sometimes they only need character sketches. Sometimes the characters are already created and I just need to animate them. I have also worked on projects that go beyond the realm of Animation. I have been Creative Director on projects that have ranged from Web to Interactive Design. Please contact me if you have any questions. |
